Submission Rules

Thank you for your submission to www.portland-oregon-business-directory.com. There are a few things you should be aware of before you submit your website:

General Rules

1. This directory is only for businesses, services, and organizations located in or near Portland, Oregon. This includes suburbs and nearby cities.

2. If your website or article was submitted properly, it will be reviewed as soon as possible. This directory is managed by a human so usually it won't be done immediately.

3. After link or article submission, you will get an email requesting that you verify the email address you entered with your submission. This is a step that helps us to make sure the submission wasn't done by a robot. If you do not click the link to verify your email address, your submission might not be accepted.

4. Accuracy: When submitting, please provide an accurate and grammatically correct title and description for your link. The title and description should reflect the content that a user would find on your site. Please carefully choose a category that best fits your website.

5. Your website must not attempt to install any software on the user's computer without permission.

6. Your website should be complete with all links working and with a generous amount of content. If your site is new, please consider making sure it is both complete and worthwhile to a potential user before submitting to the directory.

7. Blogs are accepted but they should have at least one month of content already posted.

8. We accept websites and articles about any topic or subject, except for those which promote hatred or illegal activities.

9. When you enter the Title of your website, enter the actual Title. This should be the real title of your website, not a string of keywords or anything else.

10. This is so important that it will be repeated: YOUR WEBSITE MUST BE BASED IN PORTLAND, OREGON. All others will be automatically rejected.

Regular Link Listing

What this is: This is simply a regular listing. You submit your website details and it will be listed in the directory.

Price: Free!

Acceptance time: Usually within 48 hours.

Featured Link Listing

What this is: Featured listings are shown at the top of their category and search results. You submit your website details and it will be listed in the directory. No reciprocal link is required.

Price: One-time fee of $40. Payments are processed by PayPal. Payments are non-refundable.

Acceptance time: Usually within 48 hours.

Length of featured status: The link will remain featured for as long as this website is online.

Regular Article Submission

What this is: Your article will be posted in the directory in the regular fashion without being featured. We highly recommend that you add a reciprocal link to www.portland-oregon-business-directory.com on your website, especially if your article links to your website.

Articles can be about anything you want (providing they follow the rules above), including press release format. They can, and should, include your website URL and your contact information.

Price: Free

Acceptance time: Usually within 48 hours.

Featured Article Submission

What this is: Featured articles are shown at the top of their category and search results. You submit your article along with any included links and it will be listed in the directory.

Articles can be about anything you want (providing they follow the rules above), including press release format. They can, and should, include your website URL and your contact information.

Price: One time fee of $20. Payments are processed by PayPal. Payments are non-refundable.

Acceptance time: Usually within 48 hours.

Length of featured status: The article will remain featured for as long as this website is online.

Site Spotlight

What this is: Your website thumbnail and a link to your detail page appears on the right side column of the directory.

Price: One-time fee of $25. Payments are processed by PayPal.

Display time period: One month. Always starts on the 1st of the month.

One rule: Your website must have a thumbnail from Thumbshots.com.

How to get in the Spotlight: Send in a request via the Contact form at least two days before the 1st of the upcoming month. The fee must be recieved no later than the day before the 1st of the upcoming month.
